Using a person’s correct pronouns (or using gender-neutral pronouns if requested) is a basic way to show respect and acceptance.   \n\n✅ Why the Day Matters \n\nUsing correct pronouns helps avoid assumptions about someone’s gender. The event was first held in 1997 and has become one of the key rubber-scene gatherings in the U.S.   \nWhat Happens at MIR \n\nThe weekend features social events\, workshops\, educational sessions\, and a vendor/market where attendees can explore rubber/fetish gear\, accessories\, and more.  \nThe highlight is the MIR Contest — a stage contest where contestants compete for the title (MIR) in front of audience and judges. It’s part competition\, part community celebration.  \nThe vibe mixes community\, fun\, fetish culture\, and social connection. Attendees come from around the world for a weekend of acceptance\, expression\, and fellowship.  \n\nInclusivity & Community Focus \nMIR is inclusive — welcoming participants of all genders\, orientations\, and experience levels.
