Food Outreach October 2023

This October (2022) Blue Max had the opportunity to volunteer at St. Louis’ Food Outreach.

Food Outreach’s mission is to provide nutritional support and enhance the quality of life of men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS or cancer. They are the only organization providing these services in the St. Louis region. Their clients live in 160 Missouri and Illinois zip codes and range in age from 18 to 89 years – many of whom live with multiple secondary illnesses in addition to their primary diagnosis. The goals of nutrition therapy are to accomplish the following: prevent or reverse nutrient deficiencies; preserve lean body mass; help patients better tolerate treatments; minimize nutrition related side effects and complications; maintain strength and energy; protect immune function, decreasing the risk of infection; aid in recovery and healing; and maximize quality of life.

Food Outreach’s comprehensive program includes their Made-From-Scratch Meals, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Shelf-Stable Grocery Program designed by their on-staff Chef and Registered Dietitian, individualized dietetic counseling, nutrition and cooking education classes, a weekly congregate three-course meal, nutrition supplements, and meal home delivery to homebound clients. Their programs provide each client with two nutritious meals per day (28 meals/biweekly; 62 meals, monthly) throughout enrollment, combined with nutrition counseling and monitoring by our Registered Dietitian.

Together we can make a big impact. Tuesday, November 28th is Giving Tuesday, please consider donating to Blue Max: https://www.bluemaxcc.org/donate/ Part of our mission is charitable giving to other non-profit organizations near and dear to our hearts. Blue Max raises money at monthly club nights and other events throughout the year. This helps the club continue to function and put on events for the community. When you donate, write a comment for which organization you’d like to support. When we reach our goal amount, Blue Max will donate the lump sum to that organization. You can also make a general

Gary is survived by his partner Paul Kelly Jr. of 53 years. Paul was gracious enough to share some of the personal photographs that he and Gary took over the past 30 years of them being members of Blue Max. The club  is now in the process of scanning in these photographs so we can share them with you, our Leather Family ❤️

On September 22-24, 2023 various leather folk from around the Midwest and even further converged on Dawgwoodz Campground in Missouri for the Blue Max Cycle Club run. The Run’s theme was, “Stranger Kinks”, which was based on 80’s culture. The name was inspired by Netflix’s “Stranger Things” which was based in the 80’s.  Blue Max provided demos that you did not see at our typical fetish nights.
