Pledge: A Pledge is an individual who has expressed a sincere interest in becoming a Full Member of the Blue Max Cycle Club. The pledge period is designed to provide both the applicant and the club an opportunity to evaluate compatibility, commitment, and alignment with the club’s values, traditions, and mission.

Pledges are expected to actively engage with the club, learn its history and protocols, and demonstrate a willingness to contribute to the brotherhood and its charitable efforts. While pledges do not have voting privileges, they are encouraged to attend meetings and participate in club activities as permitted.

Upon successful completion of the pledge period, pledges may be considered for Full Membership through a formal vote of the membership, as outlined in the club’s bylaws.

PURPOSE OF PLEDGING

The pledge process exists to:

• Ensure prospective members understand the traditions, expectations, and responsibilities of Blue Max
• Allow the membership to get to know the candidate on a personal and social level
• Provide the candidate an opportunity to determine if the club is the right fit for them
• Maintain the integrity, reputation, and brotherhood of the club

PLEDGE PERIOD & EVALUATION

The length of the pledge period may vary based on participation, engagement, and readiness, as determined by the membership and leadership in accordance with the bylaws.

Progress will be evaluated based on:

• Attendance and participation
• Attitude and conduct
• Willingness to contribute and support club activities
• Compatibility with the club’s culture and values

At the conclusion of the pledge period, the membership will vote on advancement to Full Membership.

NEXT STEPS

Pledge applications are reviewed by the membership on a regular basis. Following approval, the Vice President of Membership (or designee) will contact you with next steps.

Your pledge status will officially begin at the next regular Blue Max Membership meeting, where you will be formally introduced and receive your pledge handbook.
