Gary and Paul served Blue Max for over 30 years, beginning in the 1970’s. With deep sorrow we announced the death of Gary Unger, which occurred on September 15, 2023. Gary is survived by his partner Paul Kelly Jr. of 53 years.
Paul was gracious enough to share some of the personal photographs that he and Gary took over the past 30 years of them being members of Blue Max. The club is now in the process of scanning in these photographs so we can share them with you, our Leather Family ❤️
𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱, 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘅 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟱𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲, and it was nothing short of incredible! Seeing so many people come together to honor 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗮 𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 was a powerful reminder of what makes 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘅 so special. 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟰 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲’𝘃𝗲
Yesterday the members and friends of Blue Max had the privilege of visiting Missouri Historical Society Library & Research Center to explore their extensive LGBTQ+ archival collections.
